
Dr. Mariam Ahmad Abu Alim, Associate Professor of Biomechanics and Kinesiology at Yarmouk University and Vice President of the Arabic Society of Biomechanics and Motor Behavior, participated as an invited guest and official speaker at the 2nd European Congress on Public Health and Epidemiology, held in Rome, Italy, from 17–18 November 2025.
Dr. Abu Alim delivered a scientific lecture titled:
“Aligning National Efforts Toward SDG 3: Commitment and Progress Across Selected Arab Countries,”
which addressed sustainable health and community well-being through an analytical exploration of how SDG 3 indicators are translated into real-world practices across Arab countries with varying economic and political contexts.
Representing Yarmouk University at this distinguished international event, Dr. Abu Alim highlighted the University’s active presence in global research forums and showcased its leadership in areas of public health research, sustainable physical activity, and the integration of artificial intelligence to support community well-being.
Dr. Abu Alim received a Certificate of Participation and Appreciation from the conference’s Scientific Committee in recognition of her contribution and scientific presentation, delivered before a diverse international audience of researchers and experts in public health and epidemiology.
